Pathfinder Day
Pathfinders around the Union participated in celebrating the 69th year of the World Pathfinder Day on the 21st of September 2019. This year’s theme is ‘Created for a purpose’ Various activities were conducted by the clubs which included, visiting the homeless and the Children’s home, donating clothing and groceries, conducting church service and interacting with the community, among other activities.
Gweru Central pathfinders visited Hope Children’s home where they worshipped and interacted with the orphans at the home. They donated clothing and groceries to the children’s home. Mrs Mlauzi, the patron, appreciated the gesture by saying the club has proved their Christianity by remembering to cater for the needy in the community.
Gweru West visited a home for the disabled in Mkoba 15. The home shelters 12 people with disabilities, down syndrome and others who are homeless. Mrs Bhebhe, the matron was delighted to receive groceries, clothing and money towards the welfare of the home.
